MICHAEL in ERIE, PA wrote : 12/26/08 I have been using these little guys for quite a while. They are inexpensive and just keep working. I have used color and high contrast units depending upon the application. Programming is quick and there is a lot of bells and whistles for your buck. I have used them them DL05, DL06 and A-B MicroLogix without a hitch. I have had only unit fail and I could hardly blame the unit, they are not rated to repell fork trucks during shipment.

AndrewH in HORTONVILLE, WI wrote : 12/2/08 Fist one shipped was a lemon. Next one worked fine and my account was credited promptly. Pros: ease of use, value for the money relative to competition, nice import of database functionality. Cons: programming software is buggy - simulation feature bombs, panel locks up on transfer of project if a dynamic object (data link) overlaps 'unfavorably' with another object or a few pixels are off screen, dynamic/animated bit maps are only discrete/digital (0/1) so it is not possible to make a 3-state switch (off / On / Auto) or animated graphics beyond 2 layers - very limiting. Also, no Find/Replace of database tags - ie. if you make a screen for Oven1 and then you want to use that as a template for Oven2, you have to re-key all the tags on the screen. Lots of room for improvement on the programming software for the panel and the firmware for the panel. If the EA1-S3ML does not improve in those regards, I will have to look at other possible automation solutions. But, even now, for the money, for small applications, this product is hard to beat. -Andrew H, industrial control/automation engineer

I am using it on many small and medium size projects. Any project that requires at least one timer or counter is a good candidate for a small PLC and a touch screen. It's cost effective and better solution then a use of descrite components. Joseph
